A beautiful carpet can do wonders for your home and lifestyle, but it won’t stay beautiful for ever if you don’t look after it. To ensure that your carpet always looks and feels its best, and gives you years and years of wear, here are three general rules to follow. |
| If all carpets can be stained, you might be wondering whether stain treatments really work.
Stain treatments applied to man made carpet fibres do work well as they help the carpet fibre resist absorbing the spilt liquid for a longer time. This gives you more time to clean up a spill or dirt before a stain is created.
On a treated carpet, a liquid will pool on the surface and remain there for some minutes which is very easy to mop up with a cotton cloth or an absorbent paper towel. The liquid is so well absorbed by cleaning that, once removed, the surface of the carpet where the spill was will be almost perfectly dry.
If you have small children or pets, carpets with stain treatments are highly recommended. |
We would advise you get professional cleaning for larger spills as it prevents stains from drying into carpet fibre. We also suggest you advise professional cleaners not to use water hotter than 55ºC. You’ll find some stains may require additional professional cleaning to totally remove discolouration. In fact, certain stains may require a dry powder or liquid remover to complete a total lift-off of the stain.
